SINOPSIS:
This work is intended
for English teachers at the junior and senior high school levels who strive
to make their lessons more structured, engaging, and meaningful through
the application of scaffolding strategies within genre-based learning
approach.
In recent years, English teachers in Indonesia have been required to
design lessons that promote students’ active participation and gradual
language development. The genre-based approach, which lies at the heart
of the contemporary English curriculum offers a clear pedagogical cycle;
yet, in practice, many teachers still find it challenging to provide effective
scaffolding that supports students’ progress from understanding to
independent performance. This book seeks to respond to that challenge.
It offers a concise theoretical overview of genre-based pedagogy and the
role of scaffolding as an instructional bridge between guidance and
autonomy. More importantly, it provides practical guidance on how
scaffolding can be implemented across the stages of the teaching and
learning cycle—from building knowledge of the field to independent text
construction. To assist classroom practice, this book also includes
examples of lesson plans (
Modul Ajar) that demonstrate how scaffolding
can be systematically embedded in English lessons.
