This book is a compilation of the Eurasia Lecturer Series, a cross-perspective forum that brings together academic thought, field experience, and global discourse in a productive dialogue space. The themes raised reflect a diversity of perspectives: from the philosophical and psychological concepts of empowerment, as offered through the lens of Sigmund Freud's thinking and the GEDSI approach; to aspects of policy and village governance in the context of Yogyakarta's special autonomy and the utilization of village funds. Not only does it delve into policy discourse, but this book also highlights the socio-cultural dimensions of empowerment, emphasizing the role of local wisdom, indigenous movements, and the influence of global pop culture, such as the Korean wave, which unexpectedly became a language of diplomacy and a medium of international solidarity.
